I’m Rafael Gee — a Puerto Rican comedian born in Manhattan and raised in Brooklyn. My love for laughter started early, growing up in the heart of New York City during a time when survival took center stage. Comedy became my way of fighting back — a weapon of resilience, a voice for everything I couldn’t say growing up.
I’ve been performing stand-up for over 25 years. No shortcuts, no silver spoon — just a relentless grind through clubs, bars, theaters, and anywhere with a working mic and an audience willing to listen. From open mics in the back of bodegas to headlining stages across the country, I built my act from scratch — one joke, one crowd, one moment at a time.
I’ve had the honor of sharing the stage with comedy giants like Mark Viera, Sara Contreras, Rubén Vanderpool, and Gina Brillón. My journey has taken me to venues like Broadway Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, Levity Live, and The Milford Theater, and festivals like the Empire Comedy Festival in Texas.
But comedy didn’t just give me a stage — it saved my life. In 2020, I nearly died from a rare bacterial infection. I fought my way back — only for it to return in 2022. Twice I was forced to stop, reflect, and ask if I still had more to give.
I did.
Today, I’m not just a comic. I’m a survivor. A father. A grandfather. A storyteller. And a proud Puerto Rican who believes laughter is more than entertainment — it’s healing.
This journey isn’t over. I’m just getting started — and I’m bringing every lesson, every laugh, and every bit of heart with me.
